Ghirardelli :2009 Moorit and white spotted Ram.This will be his second lamb crop and we are certain they will be colorful and have a very wonderful temperments.Ghirardelli has a beautiful set of horns that are even more impressive than the photo shows(they have grown nicely). He also has a very soft well balanced fleece that is so soft in handspun yarn.He is paired with the two ewes below,Mocha and Sugar Lips.
Sugar Lips: 2009 Black ewe, polled, but carries the horned genetics and throws horned lambs.
Sugar has a simply beautiful fleece! She took Grand Champion ewe at our fair in 2010.Her fleece is well balanced and very soft, does not need seperating prior to handspinning for yarn. She has personality plus, one of our favorite ewes for certain!
Jack Sparrow:2008 Black and White spotted Ram.He has thrown beautiful lambs with very wide fast growing horns.
Jack took Grand Champion two years in a row at our fair, and overall Grand champion fleece the first year shown. He was compeating against all other wool breeds and won the class in 2009,and took a grand champion for the Icelandic class in 2010.He was a hit at our fair with his wide, full curled horns and sweet personality, always begging for treats ! His favorite is Skittles! Jack is paired with Godiva and Myst.
Godiva :2007 Moorit and White spotted ewe.
Godiva is a very sweet gentle ewe that usually twins and passes on her wonderful temperment to her lambs. She is polled from horned genetics and throws wide set horns in her lambs and lots of color! She has a beautiful well balanced fleece that continues to stay soft with every shearing. No need to seperate her fleece prior to handspinning. Her lambs seem to posses this quality of fleece as well. She is pictured with last years ram lamb twins. Ghirardhelli is her son from a breeding to Sherlock 07T.
Merlot: 2010 75% Merino Ram,Moorit brown
Merlot is a wonderful addition and will be sire to our cross bred flock of fine wool sheep for handspinning fleeces.after years of searching for sheep possesing the fine wool qualities that i desired for my own handspinning uses,I came across Merlot by chance! He had all of the qualities that I had been looking for.He will make some beautiful lambs with Maggie Mae,Emma, and Chardonnay.
Maggie Mae:2007 Rambouillet CVM crossbred ewe, white
Maggie is such a wonderful sheep, she is very sweet and loves children. She is a wonderful mother and usually twins. She has the most wonderful super fine wool, finer than most purebred fine wooled sheep that I've looked at!She is an asset to my handspinning flock and will cross beautifully with Merlot.
Chardonnay:2009 Merino ewe,Oatmeal colored with dark face and legs.
Chardonnay was purchased with Merlot, she is a Merino ewe and has a very fine fleece with lovely color.I can't wait for lambs and spring shearing !Her fleece is like butter in my hands,so super soft! Her only fault is that she wasn't handled at an early age and is very flighty.
